What Was Built Here
Margate's housing stock centers on 1978, later than a lot of the rest of the Fort Lauderdale service area, which runs from 1953 up through 2005 with a median closer to 1975. That eight-to-ten-year gap matters more than it sounds. Homes built here in the late 1970s came with a different generation of garage door and opener than the early 1950s ranch houses closer to the coast.
